(1) Use
the Ink Blending Tool
with Foam attachments
to apply Distress Inks
to the decorative printed
back of a vintage cabinet
card photo. Rub
the Distress Inkpad
directly on the Non-Stick
Craft sheet. Work
with one color at a time. Start
from off the edge of
the photo card on the
Non-Stick Craft Sheet
and work the ink inward
using the Blending Tool
and Foam attachments
in a circular motion
to create a gradation
of blended colors. Blend
together each ink color
from top to bottom:
Worn Lipstick, Spiced
Marmalade, Shabby Shutters
and Broken China.
(2) Paint
the
photo
side
of
the
cabinet
card
with
Pool
Acrylic
Paint
Dabber. Add
bits
of
SnowCap
Paint
Dabber. Use
the
Ink
Blending
Tool
and
a
Foam
piece
to
smooth
out
the
paint
strokes. Let
dry. Ink
Worn
Wallpaper
stamp
with
Faded
Jeans
Distress
Ink
and
stamp
over
the
painted
background. Immediately
swipe
the
image
with
the
Ink
Blending
Tool
and
Foam
to
smear
and
blur
the
image. Heat
set
with
the
Heat
Tool.
(3) Use
Gold
Metallic
Paint
Dabber
to
ink
Flourish
stamp
and
stamp
portions
at
the
top
and
bottom
of
the
blue
background. Use
the
Gold
Paint
Dabber
to
add
paint
along
the
edges
of
the
cabinet
card. Allow
to
dry.
(4) When
all ink and paints are
dry, use a craft knife
to cut a two by two inch
window in the cabinet
card, slightly off center. Be
sure to leave at least
three-quarters of an inch
from the side to allow
room for the chipboard
frame.
(5) Choose
two one and one-half-inch
square images from the
Instant Art Collage Book. Cut
them out and sandwich
them between two pieces
of two inch Memory Glass. Use
a tiny dab of Glossy accents
on the images to keep
them “floating” in
the middle of the glass. Secure
the glass pieces in a
two-inch Memory Frame. Set
the Memory Frame into
the niche cut into the
cabinet card. Add
small amounts of Glossy
Accents to secure the
frame inside the niche. Allow
to dry.
(6) Paint
two scalloped chipboard
frames with Copper Metallic
Paint Dabber. Use
the Ink Blending Tool
and Foam attachment
to swipe the painted
surface from top to bottom
to give the frames a
brushed metallic look. Use
the Blending Tool and
Foam to work paint onto
the sides and grooves
of the scalloped frames
as well. When
paint has dried, attach
the chipboard frames
around the Memory Frame
inset in the card using
strong double-sided
tape.
(7) Print
quotation onto scrap of
cardstock and stamp over
the quote using Flourish
stamp and Dried Marigold
Distress Ink. Cut
words apart, ink the edges
using the Ink Blending
Tool and Foam with Brushed
Corduroy Distress ink. Adhere
the inked quote pieces
to both sides of the cabinet
card.
(8) Use
the Ink Blending Tool
and Foam attachment to
apply Perfect Medium
to vintage paper coins
(or use chipboard circles
covered in patterned
paper). Brush
on Blue Patina and Bronze
Perfect Pearls Pigment
Powders to the surface. Pierce
holes through the medallions
and tie waxed linen
thread through the embellishments
and tie around the cabinet
card. Secure the
embellishments in place
with a bit of foam
tape.
(9) Add
Diamond Stickles Glitter
Glue to the holes in
the scalloped chipboard
frame to complete.
