Creating
the Box
(1) Paint
inside of box with Pink Sherbet Paint Dabber.
(2) Punch
various circle sizes of patterned paper. On larger circles, stamp letters
with Archival Jet Black ink to spell the word “pencils”.
(3) Cut various lengths
of one quarter inch strips of solid cardstock.
(4) Follow instructions
for Tera Leigh’s Faux Mosaic Kit; when
applying the grout, do not apply to the lip
of the box, or it will not close properly
(5) When gluing down the paper,
use the punched circles to cover the lid of
pencil box and the one quarter inch strips to
cover bottom section of the box.
(6) Work
in sections when applying the Glaze down, as you
don’t want gravity to pull the glaze down!
Decorating the Pencils:
(7) Cut random shapes from various patterned
papers.
(8) Follow
instructions for Tera Leigh’s
Faux Mosaic Kit. Note: apply Faux Grout to entire
pencil and balance the ends of the pencils on
a box to dry.
(9) Cut
three quarter inch strips of patterned paper and
wrap around metal part of pencil. Use
the glue from the kit to adhere it and use the
glaze to cover it.
(10) When
applying the Glaze, apply to one side at a time,
allowing sufficient time to dry before turning
the pencil. The Non-Stick Craft Sheet makes the
perfect work surface for this!
