Instructions

(1) On the Non-Stick Craft Sheet, paint two 8½" x 11" sheets of Sticky-Back Canvas with Yellow Pastel Claudine Hellmuth Studio Paint. Let dry or speed drying with a heat tool.

Create Faux Batik effect on 2 more sheets of Sticky-Back Canvas:
(2)
On the Inkssentials Non-Stick Craft Sheet, spread out a small layer of Claudine Hellmuth Studio Gesso. Stamp your foam stamp into the puddle of Gesso and then stamp onto the Sticky-Back Canvas. Continue doing this until the entire sheet of Sticky-Back Canvas is filled with your design. Let dry.

(3) Once dry, place a few dabs of various colors of Claudine Hellmuth Studio Paint, onto the Non-Stick Craft Sheet. Add water to the paint by spraying the paint on with a few sprays of water from the Mini Mister. You want the paint to become almost a “tea stain” consistency for this technique. Very watery paint will work best for this step.

(4) Next, brush the watery paint mixture onto the Gesso printed Sticky-Back Canvas. You will see that where you stamped your design with the Gesso it now resists the paint, leaving a beautiful pattern! Set aside to dry.

Finishing the purse: (finished size: 8½" wide, 7" high and 1¾" deep. Purse handle can be any length you desire, as you are attaching small pieces of Sticky-Back patches together. Purse handle width should be the same as purse: 1¾".)

(5) Fold the 8½" x 11" sheet of Yellow Pastel painted Sticky-Back Canvas into thirds to create a shape for the purse. Then make a crease at the folds and then unfold.

(6) Cut the piece of faux batik Sticky-Back Canvas into strips.

(7) Layer the strips onto the bottom third of the 8½" x 11" sheet of Sticky-Back Canvas painted with Yellow Pastel. This will be the front portion of the purse. Secure by sewing on the sewing machine. Repeat for a purse handle as well.

(8) Cut the other faux batik sheet of Sticky-Back Canvas various sized circles and attach these to the rest of the yellow painted sheet of Sticky-Back Canvas.

(9) If you like to add a side gusset to your purse measure for this on the two sides of the purse and the bottom.

(10) Lay out your lining fabric with the wrong side up.

(11) Remove the paper backing from all of your pieces and assemble them sticky side onto the fabric. Fold to test that all pieces are in the correct place, and that when you fold it up it should form into the purse shape.

(12) Top stitch on the sewing machine along all the seams.

(13) If you would like a rounded front to your purse, cut this now before finishing the seams.

(14) Sew handle to purse with buttons on each side.

(15) Attach hook n loop circle to underside of purse flap.
