Instructions

Create Faux-Batik effect on Sticky Back Canvas:
(1)
On the Inkssentials Non-Stick Craft Sheet, spread out a small layer of Claudine Hellmuth Studio Gesso. Stamp your foam stamp into the puddle of Gesso and then stamp onto the Sticky-Back Canvas. Continue doing this until the entire sheet of Sticky-Back Canvas is filled with your design. Let dry.

(2) Once dry, select a color of Claudine Hellmuth Studio Paint, and place a dab onto the Non-Stick Craft Sheet. Add water to the paint by spraying the paint on with a few sprays of water from the Mini Mister. You want the paint to become almost a “tea stain” consistency for this technique. Very watery paint will work best for this step.

(3) Next, brush the watery paint mixture onto the Gesso printed Sticky-Back Canvas. You will see that where you stamped your design with the Gesso it now resists the paint, leaving a beautiful pattern! Set aside to dry.

Putting the pillow together:
(4)
Once dry, cut Sticky-Back Canvas pieces into flower shapes.

(5) Sew pillowcase or use a pre-made store bought one!

(6) Arrange cut Sticky-Back Canvas pieces on pillowcase.

(7) Sew on sewing machine using the stitching to create the flower stems and leaves. Hand-sew buttons on flower centers.

(8) Fill pillowcase with cotton batting and close with hand stitching.

(9) You now have a new pillow for your home!!!
