Instructions

(1) Cut Gloss Paper to six and one half by three and one quarter inches.

(2) Use Cut n’ Dry Foam to place a thin layer of ink (four solid rectangles) onto Gloss Paper. Make each rectangle a different color, one each of Chrome Yellow, Rose Madder, Cerulean Azure, and Chartreuse Leaf.  Let ink dry.  You can use the Craft Tool to speed up the drying process.

(3) Use Cut n’ Dry Foam to apply a darker “halo” of the same color ink around each corresponding rectangle.  Let dry.  Repeat process until the desired depth of color is achieved.

(4) Use another square of Cut n’ Dry Foam (or Ink Blending Foam and Tool) to add Van Dyke Brown highlights to the ink.

(5)
Stamp alphabet repeatedly over rectangles using Van Dyke.

(6) Stamp bird on Gloss Paper using Lamp Black ink.

(7) Cut a piece of white cardstock six and three quarters by three and one half inch. Use Chrome Yellow, Rose Madder, Cerulean Azure, and Chartreuse Leaf, and the Non Stick Craft Sheet to create a splattered ink background using the Tim Holtz’™ Wrinkle Free Distress Technique, which is as follows:

(8) Rub colors of Distress Ink on the Non-Stick Craft Sheet. Place the ink next to and not on top of one another, as you want to keep the ink colors as pristine as possible.

(9) Spritz ink with water with Mini Misters; more water is better. If you use too little water, you will end up with “blocks” of color.

(10) Press paper on the inks. Turn over and dry with the Heat Tool. (Option: blot the wetter areas with a paper towel, which creates wonderful ink spots and helps the paper dry faster!)

(11) Lightly tap dry inked paper over remaining ink drops on Craft Sheet to build layers of color. Dry with Craft Tool. Note: if you don’t dry the ink between “pressings”, it will muddy.

(12) Repeat until desired look is achieved.

(13) Trim a piece of brown cardstock seven and one quarter by seven and three quarter inches. Fold in half to make card base.

(14) Adhere layers to card; cut bird out and adhere to card.
