(1) For the four seasons, 4 different
“swatches” of color need to be created on Gloss Paper
using the Monoprint Technique.
(2) Place Adirondack Alcohol Inks in
lines, dots, etc. onto the Non-Stick Craft Sheet,
followed by a squiggle of Blending Solution.
(3) Place a piece of Gloss Paper GLOSS
SIDE DOWN onto the inks on the Craft Sheet, press and
twist in ONE direction, and remove. Look how the colors
mix and swirl. It dries almost instantly. The colors
used were as follows:
• Stream, Wild Plum and Eggplant
• Lettuce and Meadow
• Terra Cotta, Butterscotch and Rust
• Stonewashed, Denim and Slate
(4) Clean off Non-Stick Craft Sheet
with Cleansit™ Stamp Cleaner or Blending Solution.
(5) Cut each swatch to a 2” square. Put
aside.
(6) Ink tree image with Perfect Medium
Stamp Pad. Place frosted side of the glass against the
inked stamp so it can be properly aligned. Remove from
glass and sprinkle on Clear Embossing Powder. Shake off
excess embossing powder and return to jar.
(7) Place glass on Non-Stick Craft
Sheet. Emboss image with Craft Tool. Let cool before
handling, as the glass will become hot. The area where
the image was embossed will become clear, creating the
look of etched glass! Repeat process with 3 more pieces
of the Frosted Memory Glass.
(8) Sandwich Monoprint Gloss Paper
between the embossed Frosted Memory Glass and a second
piece of Memory Glass (it can be frosted or clear, as it
will just be the base for the artwork).
(9) Cut a piece of Aluminum Memory Foil
Tape approximately 9-10 inches from the roll. Unpeel
ONLY about 1/2” to 3/4” (if you remove all of the
backing from the tape, it will curl up into a foil
ball!).
(10) Center the glass “sandwich” on the
foil, sticky side against the glass, starting on the
bottom of the image. “Walk” the glass along the center
of the foil tape, unpeeling the backing of the tape as
you go along.
(11) When you get back to the start of
the tape, overlap it approximately 1/4” – 1/2”.
(12) Press tape down on both sides of
the glass using your fingers; when you get to a corner,
press the corner down along the tape, which will cause
it to become a mitered corner.
(13) After all sides have been pressed
down, smooth out rough or bumpy edges of the tape with
bone folder or creaser. Remember that you’re working
with glass, so don’t press too hard. Be sure to burnish
all three sides of the foil.
(14) Cut black paper into squares
approximately 1/4” to 1/2” larger than squares. Layer
glass in center of each square. Layer that onto matte
natural cardstock that has been distressed by inking
square of Cut n’ Dry Foam with Vintage Photo. Layer that
onto another piece of black paper or matboard.
