FAQs

What are Perfect Pearls, and how do you use them?

Perfect Pearls are pearlescent pigment powders with a built-in resin. So, they stick to surfaces without a separate adhesive. Use them dry or wet, brush them onto paper, mix them into watercolors, inks, paints or embossing powders, or dust them as a finishing shimmer. They’re especially great on dark cardstock, giving luminous, metallic or pearly effects. They can be applied directly or blended with other media for subtle shimmer or bold color highlights.

What is Perfect Medium, and do you need it to use Perfect Pearls?

Perfect Medium is a clear, sticky ink pad that acts as a base for precise placement of Perfect Pearls. You stamp or apply it where you want your shimmer, then dust the powder on top. Starter kits include powders, brushes and a Perfect Medium pad to make the workflow easy.

What is the difference between Perfect Pearls and embossing powder?

Embossing powder melts with heat to create a raised, glossy surface. Perfect Pearls are a dry pigment powder that creates flat, pearlescent shimmer without heat. Think of Perfect Pearls for shimmer and subtle color, and embossing powder for dimension and shine.

What is the difference between Perfect Pearls and Liquid Pearls?

The names are similar, but the products are very different. Perfect Pearls are dry powders that add flat pearlescent shimmer. Liquid Pearls are wet, dimensional paints that dry raised with a pearly finish. Perfect Pearls are great for shimmer washes, watercolors and subtle shine. Liquid Pearls are for dots, borders and raised embellishments; and when used with a brush, great for painting or watercolor.
